The Connectional Table, a United Methodist body of clergy and lay people gathered from around the world, have revealed their plans to propose a “third way” for that denomination. Addressing concerns about “unity” and a renewed “focus on mission,” the proposal would be voted on at General conference in 2016. For the UMC, the Connectional Table functions as a key leadership council for the denomination, guiding and coordinating that church’s mission, ministry and resources.
The article, published by the United Methodist news Service, is found here:
Church body proposes more open stance on homosexuality.
In the Seventh-day Adventist Church, some have used precisely the same “third way” language for their proposals to permit women’s ordination on a piecemeal basis by individual unions and divisions as locally determined. Consider: can even one Christian denomination be named that has not chosen a “third way” on this kind of matter, that has not in the end settled on an unbiblical way?

Good post.
I am just starting to look at another connection I see between spiritualism and WO and homosexual issues.
In those communities like the Shakers which were obviously practicing spiritualism, one of the common threads was an equality of all members, male, female, genders. As the arguments for WO develop, it appears to me that those arguments are drifting closer and closer towards the same views held my spiritualists.
I may have to retract this statement, but right now I am looking for more evidence to support this view. If anyone has info they can share with me, I would like to her from you.

The link to the UMC article doesn’t work, and should be fixed. I did it manually, and it was an interesting read.

What is our role in the world? What is our message to the world? Does it include making women and homosexuals “feel good” about themselves and the way they are being treated? We have a whole world falling to pieces and fixing to go up in smoke and God raises us as a people to make homosexuals and women “feel good”!
